The Opportunity
As a Health and Safety Advisor you will provide specialised advice and services for the application of Health and Safety practices and policies in the project team; ensuring safety is the highest priority in all works. We are looking for someone to start immediately.
Any given day may see you…
- Provide support to Infrastructure projects throughout the Winslow Group and ensuring safety management systems are being implemented and meet complaince with local, state, and federal Occupational Health and Safety requirments.
- Assist in the delivery of safety strategies throughout the Project and provide safety support and guidance to the wider project team.
- Assist the Safety Manager to ensure all activities are safely completed, throughout the planning, delivery and implementation of the project
- Reasearch and collate information for reporting of HSE incident investigations, inclusive of development and implementation of remedial action.
- Conduct company inductions and follow-up inductions of newly employed personnel, assessing their competencies to carry ou their tasks in a safe a manner.
- Undertake risk assessments, SWMS review safety audits and Inspections.
- Contribute and participate in, HSE Committe, toolbox and muster meetings providing attention to bulletins, industry alerts and safety issues.
- Reporting on incident/ injury and hazard frequecy rates and respons appropriately to developing trends.
- Promote the planning and implementation of programs to train employees in safe work practices.
- Respond and close out any non-conformances, observations or opportunities for improvement.
Here’s what we are looking for…
- A person who proactively leads safety culture and innovation and promotes Phsychosocial safety on the project
- A person who excels in collaborating in project teams and has a passion for complex and major infrastructure development.
- At least 3 years experience in a similar role delivering civil infrastructure projects, preferably with MRPV
- Cert IV or Diploma in OHS or a similar relevant degree
- Current Driver's License, and Construction White card
- Demonstrated ability in proactively building relationships with key stakeholders and team members
- Demonstrated experience in effectively working with authorities, such as local councils, utilities companies, joint ventures, and Major Road Projects Victoria.
